I honestly think this is one of the most beautiful, tender moments in Broadway history. Not just in Phantom of the Opera itself, but literally all of Broadway! The Phantom finally lets his guard down, and you see him as a loving, caring man, rather than the monster he’s believed to be. This segment of the musical always brings tears to my eyes. It’s truly the most heartbreaking part of the story.
